We provide free sabbath rest retreats for pastors, missionaries, church leadership teams & their spouses to stay in our hand-crafted amish log cabins located in Southwest Wisconsin (about 1 hour south of Lacrosse & 2 hours west of Madison).
We have a heart & desire to provide excellent hospitality, support & encouragement to those in ministry so they can thrive as individuals- physically, spiritually & emotionally. The result is that they will then go back to wherever the Lord has called them with fresh vision & a heart reignited so they can shepherd healthy, thriving churches.
According to the book, Pastors at Greater Risk by H.B. London:
80% of pastors believe that pastoral ministry affects their families negatively.
33% say that being in ministry is an outright hazard to their family.
50% feel unable to meet the needs of the job.
90% feel they’re inadequately trained to cope with ministry demands.
There is such an importance to intentionally stepping away from the busyness and demands of ministry to keep their relationship with the Lord strong & life priorities aligned. This time away allows space for healing, rest & refreshment to permeate the hearts of leaders as they continue faithfully serving. We see many pastors leaving with fresh vision & a heart reignited with deeper love for the Lord.

Hand crafted amish log cabin designed with modern amenities & meaningful details. Selah means “pause” and it is our prayer that as you pause in His presence, you will experience rest & refreshment for your soul.

Holy Ground offers no cost retreats (Sunday-Thursday) to low cost (Friday-Sunday) for you & your spouse or ministry team to prevent ministry burnout.
