Providing the gift of sabbath rest for pastors & leaders to prevent ministry burnout

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” - Matthew 11:28-30

We provide sabbath rest for pastors, missionaries, church leadership teams & their spouses to stay in our amish log cabins located at the Dwelling Place in Gays Mills, Wisconsin (about 1 hour south of Lacrosse & 2 hours west of Madison).

We have a heart to provide excellent hospitality, support & encouragement to those in ministry so they can thrive as individuals- physically, spiritually & emotionally. The result is that they will then go back to wherever the Lord has called them with fresh vision & a heart reignited so they can shepherd healthy, thriving churches.

According to the book, Pastors at Greater Risk by H.B. London:

  • 80% of pastors believe that pastoral ministry affects their families negatively.

  • 33% say that being in ministry is an outright hazard to their family.

  • 50% feel unable to meet the needs of the job.

  • 90% feel they’re inadequately trained to cope with ministry demands.
